What to Expect From a Nutrition Consultation?

Prior to your visit you will be asked to complete a questionnaire giving details of your health concerns, symptoms, medical history, current diet, medication and nutritional supplements.
This enables Ruth to make an initial assessment of possible underlying causes.

The initial consultation

The initial consultation lasts approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes and costs £120.
During this time Ruth will gather more information on your lifestyle, practicalities, exercise and food preferences. Ruth will explain why your symptoms are occurring and a workable dietary programme is designed to be followed over the next few months.
Recommendations may also include lifestyle changes, specific supplements, and/or tests if necessary.

Follow up consultation

Follow up consultations last just under 1 hour and cost £50 and usually follow 4 weeks later, this offers support and allows for adjustments to be made to the programme as progress is made. In between consultations you have access to Ruth for any queries via email or telephone and of course Ruth's delicious recipes.

How many visits are necessary?

You may only need 2/3 depending on your original symptoms and goals.
Some clients like to return periodically to keep themselves on track, just like an MOT.

What is Metabolic Balance?

metabolic balance®  is an award winning individualised food plan that re-sets your metabolism and hormone levels naturally, leading to a healthy weight, bringing about optimum health.

It is based on a blood test which shows which foods suit your metabolic and hormonal biochemistry.

The programme was developed in 2002 by a team of physicians, nutritonists and IT specialists. It has been researched and developed over 25 years, is well established in Europe and benefits from scientific proof as well as over 400,000 success stories of clients improved health, vitality and weight loss.

How does it work?

Metabolic Balance basically resets your hormone levels, in particular insulin. Insulin is the hormone that stops us accessing our fat stores, so when we eat the wrong foods, levels increase and we struggle to lose weight. By eating the right foods, at the right times we keep insulin low, we help create another hormone called glucagon which allows the liver to burn fat for energy. This resets our metabolism, when that balances we start to really feel and see the benefits.

Clients are reporting not only incredible weight loss results but extreme well being, improved sleep, more energy.

One client taking diabetic medication, no longer needs his metformin and has stopped using his asthma inhalers.

Another client who was being monitored by his GP has normal blood sugar readings and no longer needs to be monitored.
