Savoury Seeds and Nuts

A delicious blend of spicey nuts and seeds, ideal as a tasty snack

  • 1 large egg white

  • 1 tablespoon water

     

    Sieve the following:

  • 1-2 teaspoons ground cumin

  • 1⁄2 teaspoon chilli powder

  • 1-2 teaspoon curry

  • ½ - 1 teaspoon salt

  • 1⁄2 teaspoon garlic salt

  • 1⁄4 teaspoon cayenne

  • 1⁄4 teaspoon ginger

  • 1⁄4 teaspoon cinnamon

  •  

  • 2 cups mixed nuts/seeds

     

     

  1. Heat oven to 275F / 135C.

  2. Whisk egg white and water until stiff.

  3. Toss with nuts. You may need more or less nuts, you just want to cover the mixture so that the spice will stick.

  4. Stir in the sieved spices until all coated.

  5. Pour onto baking sheet lined with baking parchment and spread out.

  6. Bake 15 minutes and stir / unclump.

  7. Lower heat to 225 degrees (or put in bottom oven of AGA, and bake 1 hour, stirring a few times. You basically want the nuts to be dried out and not clumping.

  8. Turn off oven and cool with door propped open.

  9. Store in airtight container or mouth!!!!
